Two new retail stores will be officially opening this month at the Adams Creek Town Center shopping complex, officials announced.
Burlington Stores, a national off-price retailer, will hold a grand opening on June 26 for its first store in Broken Arrow and 17th in Oklahoma.
Originally known as a coat retailer, today, Burlington says it offers customers deals on top-quality branded merchandise for the entire family and home.
Officials for the national off-price railer said the Broken Arrow location will have a “reimagined” store design that reflects the brands broader strategy to modernize its stores, “making it easier for shoppers to find the brands they want. Burlington officials said fresh merchandise will be arriving at the Broken Arrow location each week.
Burlington says it plans to open 110 net new stores across the U.S. with the refreshed format, after already having updated the rest of its stores earlier. The new format will offer wider, more organized aisles and bold signage for easier store navigation.
On June 26 and June 27, following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the first 100 customers aged 18 and up will get a $10 Bonus Card to be used toward a purchase.
Burlington also announced that to celebrate the new store location and highlight the company’s ongoing commitment to education, the retailer will donate $5,000 to a nearby high-needs school through their long-standing partnership with the national non-profit organization AdoptAClassroom.org.
Funds will be used to provide students with classroom materials they need to learn and succeed. The presentation of the donation to the local school community will take place at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
AdoptAClassroom.org is a national nonprofit that partners with donors to provide PreK-12 teachers with the resources and supplies their students need.
A grand opening celebration will also be held June 26-27 for Books-A-Million, the book retailer’s second location for in Oklahoma. A ribbon cutting will be held at 11 a.m. on June 26 in coordination with Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce.
For families, a Storytime meet and greet with Princess Belle coupled with face painting and a balloon artist. There will also be giveaways, including the opportunity to win a $500 gift card or one of five $100 gift cards.
Adams Creek Town Center is a 142,000-square-foot shopping center that broke ground last year. Located at the corner of Hillside Drive and County Line Road, the multi-tenant property will include may top retailers in addition to Books-A-Million and Burlington, including a Bealls/Home Centric, Goldfish Swim School, Shoe Department, Catrina Fresh Mex and others.
The shopping center is expected to generate $1.4 billion in gross taxable sales over the course of the TIF district established for it. An estimated $876,800 in annual city sales tax revenue willr result from the TIF, along with $2.8 million directly to the city when the TIF expires.
An estimated $477,800 per year in annual ad valorem revenue will benefit local and county institutions every year, including Tulsa Community College, Tulsa Tech, the Tulsa City-County Health Dept, Broken Arrow Public Schools and the Tulsa City-County Library.
