The Albany Street widening project, between Lynn Lane Avenue and 37th Street, is making significant progress just in time for school to begin this week.
“As promised, we are going to get Albany Street opened before the start of school,” said Timothy Robins, construction manager for the city of Broken Arrow.
The construction crews are finishing the sub-grade on the new roadway. The widening and new bridge are complete, and the curb and gutter are currently under construction.
Asphalt will continue to be laid on Tuesday so that by when school begins on Wednesday, the roadway will be opened to two-lane traffic.
“You’re going to see paint markings in the middle of the street and cones on the sides of the road, and the speed limit will be down to 25 miles per hour,” Robins said.
