Broken Arrow is known as the “City of Roses” and the city will celebrate its history this weekend with The Rose Festival downtown, which is organized by Keep Broken Arrow Beautiful.
The organization’s mission is to keep the city “clean, safe and beautiful” through projects and initiatives that benefit Broken Arrow. The Rose Festival, which runs from Sept. 11-13, serves as a source of education and funding for The Gardens at Central Park, helping celebrate and continue Broken Arrow’s proud history as the “City of Roses.” Included in the festivities is:

- * Live Music
- * Artists & Marketplace Vendors
- * Garden & Monarch Booths
- * Food Trucks
- * Chalk It Up
- * Festival Photo Ops
- * Rose Kites Over Broken Arrow at the Broken Arrow Events Park
The dream for the Gardens began with an effort to “Bring Back the Roses” and reconnect Broken Arrow with that special part of its history.
Over time, that vision grew into something bigger, as the plan evolved into a collection of gardens featuring roses alongside pollinator/monarch plants, herbs, prairie plants and fragrant plants.
The Gardens at Central Park, “offer a beautiful place to wander, learn, enjoy nature and experience a little of the story behind the Rose Festival,” organizers said.
“Come experience the Rose Show, art, live music, vendors, family activities and so much more as we celebrate the rose, our community and the city we call home.”
Rose Kites Over Broken Arrow will take place Sunday at the Broken Arrow Events Park.
