A rapidly expanding company famous in the South for it mini cheeseburger sliders announced plans Thursday to build several restaurants in Oklahoma, and Broken Arrow will likely be its first.
Backed by former NFL Super Bowl champion quarterback Drew Brees, Atlanta-based Smalls Sliders — which bills itself as an “industry-disrupting cheeseburger slider brand” — signed a multi-unit agreement with franchise group Slide Thru for six Oklahoma locations, which will likely include Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Sand Springs, Owasso, Stillwater and Muskogee.
The first restaurant may open in early 2025, although the actual street locations haven’t been revealed yet.
“Over the past few months, Smalls Sliders has taken the opportunity to expand into new markets across the country, which is a testament to the scaling power of our brand,” said Maria Rivera, CEO of Smalls Sliders.
“Expanding into Oklahoma was a logical next step for our brand as all neighboring states already have Cans under development. Kyle and his team are well-equipped to introduce our name to the state’s major cities, and we’re eager to see them open in the coming year.”
Smalls Sliders opened its first signature ‘Smorange’ colored Can in 2019. Its locations are in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina and Texas. Arizona
