UPDATE: Unfortunately, this animal was hit and killed by a vehicle later in the evening. Not only was the animal lost but the driver’s car suffered $3,000 in damage.
A pig on the loose, apparently determined not to become part of a holiday feast, provided lots of laughs and amusement in a Broken Arrow neighborhood Thanksgiving.
The first social media post came Thursday morning when Christina Ray posted a video on the South Broken Arrow Alert Neighbors Facebook page that the animal was seen in Bentley Village area trotting in and out of traffic.
Around 6 p.m., the wayward pig was reported on the Neighbors app hanging out around Haikey Creek near 131st Street and Aspen Avenue.
Around 7:45 p.m., Shannon Tunnell posted a picture in SBAAN of the wayward pig standing in someone’s front yard at 131st Street near Chestnut Street, looking like it was about to feast on someone’s bed of flowers.
Tunnell said in a post that she called a non-emergency number and spoke to a Broken Arrow police officer, who was going to try to reach an animal control officer to pick up the pig.
Most people theorized the pig is someone’s pet but that wasn’t clear Thursday. Look for more about this caper on Friday!
