ShamRock the Rose, Broken Arrow’s longest-standing, free St. Patrick’s Day celebration, returns on March 12, promising, food, fun, entertainment and family-friendly activities.
The event, which benefits the Soldiers Wish, is 3 blocks in length, promises a dozen or more food trucks and nearly 100 street vendors featuring local businesses, churches, crafters, retail boutiques, military organizations and other entities. Advance Alarms is the presenting sponsor for this year’s festival, which runs from 5-10 p.m. in the Rose District.
A Kid’s Zone, sponsored by Andy B’s/Broken Arrow Lanes, will be provided and proceeds will benefit the Broken Arrow Football Booster Club. The Kids Zone will include a $10 “All-You-Can-Jump” wristband, games, a dunk tank and more.
Live music is also part of the show. All bands will perform on the main stage and the shows are free of charge, as is the festival itself.
Announced for the 2022 ShamRock the Rose
event is:
* Dressed to Kill, a Tulsa KISS tribute band (5 p.m.)
* Paul Holt Band, a Broken Arrow band playing classic rock favorites (6:30 p.m.)
* Outlaw 51, another Broken Arrow band comprised of Broken Arrow High School graduates playing country, Red Dirt, and classic rock tunes (8 p.m.).
As usual, ShamRock the Rose will also feature a craft beer garden, as well as a VIP area featuring the acoustic music of Cory Lee.
“Cory is a true entertainer, and a fantastic guitarist and vocalist. Our VIP guests will really enjoy his show,” said Debra Wimpee, founder and organizer of ShamRock the Rose, BA Buzz and mayor of Broken Arrow. “Make plans to join us this year, please support all of our wonderful sponsors and Soldiers Wish.”
The beer garden will be located in the large pavilion at the Farmers Market on Main Street and run from 5-9 p.m. The VIP area is on the third floor of the Museum of Broken Arrow and opens at 5 p.m. as well.

The mission of Soldier’s Wish is to identify unmet needs of veterans of military service regardless of branch or rank and identify or provide resources to meet those needs by providing needed support directly to the veteran service members and/or their families in order that such service members can lead normal and productive lives.
“The best part of the event is the Wish Granting,” Wimpee said. “Through the events $80,000 has been raised to meet unmet needs of our local veterans. We will be granting a wish to a deserving veteran at 6:30 p.m. on the main stage.”
