The Tulsa Police Department apprehended 4 teen-agers Thursday after a pursuit that led to a crash on the city’s east side.
About 3 p.m. got into a pursuit with a stolen Kia near Admiral and Harvard. Ten minutes later the Kia crashed into a utility pole at Pine Street and Garnett Road.
One suspect was taken into custody immediately. Officers and firefighters rescued two more suspects that were pinned inside the vehicle.
A fourth suspect took off running from the Kia after the crash and officers set up a perimeter and started to track him. Within 20 minutes he was taken into custody without further incident.
Tulsa police pulled a loaded and stolen AR-10 (.308 rifle) out of the Kia that the suspects were driving. One of the suspects was wearing body armor and various drugs were found in the car.
Two of the suspects were 17-year-old males and the other two suspects were 14-year-old males. Two of the suspects sustained non life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital. The other two are in police custody.
An investigation is underway into the appropriate charges that each juvenile suspect will face in this case.
